Partly just to get out, partly looking for new places to ski
The first was Peaked Mountain (1220) in Monson
http://www.thetruste...d-mountain.html
It was about a half hour up to a open ledged summit. The views would have been great if the weather was better. Lots of side trails, many suitable for skiing. Some steep sections that were not (at least for me

View to the north.... Monadnock and Wachusett are out there somewhere

This is the view to the west and the hill in the center is where we went to next
Minnechaug Mountain (908) in Hampden
http://www.minnechau...rg/MMTrails.htm

Again, a lot of interconnecting trails. Some very suitable for skiing.
Very little open views. Too bad too, because this is part of the first ridge east of the Connecticut River where the open farm lands of the Pioneer Valley rise up to the hills
