Hope everyone has had some time to get out and hike this winter. I was planning on doing a few days out in the western MA area in the first or second week in March, and wanted to know how the AT trail conditions are out there. Does anyone that lives out there (Greylock area & south) have any report on the trail conditions: i.e., snow, mud, debris, etc? Thanks for any info.

I was heading up to hit Greylock yesterday but it got canceld at the last minute. Went kayaking on the Westfiled in Huntinigton instead. There was 18" of fresh wet snow there and I herad that Greylock got upwards to 24".

Good news
I'm going X-C skiing in the morning
A snowmobile club in the Bennington area reports 60" where they measure..... where ever that is.

Bennington is about 30 miles north of Greylock and Glastonbury Mountain is 500' higher so that means that Greylock must have been hammered too. Maybe I can hit it this weekend????

Being from western MA and the berkshires...my backyard has about a foot of snow...more in the dense woods. If the warm temps keep up this week there will be less...but snowshoes will be a must for atleast another week
