A couple we hang out with has turned us onto geocaching. The past few hikes we've done there have been caches hidden along the way. So we've made it a point to stop and check them out. Anyone else find themselves searching for geocaches while out on the trail.

We did this a lot when we lived out in Washington, but not much here in Bar Harbor, since most of the island is a national park and therefore off limits to caches. There were some really tough ones in Washington, including one that involved an 8 mile bike ride on a washed out road, and then a 6 mile bushwhack to an abandoned mine (with the cache hidden in the mine dump for extra tetanus fun), and then the 14 miles back.

I think it would be awesome to bury a multi-cache deep in the north woods of Maine, far from the nearest road, etc. Any true outdoorsman would be more than happy to test their mettle with that sort of challenge.
