Just returned from the first big weekend of the year at the camp.
It was my sister's birthday and she likes to make sure that we throw a party.
I made a couple of wicked good smoked pork butts,.... 10 hours in the smoker <_< , along with some rice and a cherry chocolate cake in the dutch ovens.
While sitting around the campfire, the subject of some local hauntings came up so today I've been doing some looking into it .

.... In the past 2 years we've seen an unexplainable very bright light in the woods at night. It was there two nights in a row the first year, and last year when it reappeared I even bushwacked in about a 1/4 mile in the dark trying to figure it out. But didn't.

Today I read that some years ago (the 60s?) there was a crazy woman that lived in a shack out in the forest between X road and Y road who would chase people with a hatchet. She supposedly still haunts the forest to this day......
Well that's our forest now  ... and I'm pretty sure that the ruins of her shack and the property that is our camp was her land !

.... and this all is at the foot of the mountain where the strange light appears
:o  :(

:D
