My wife and I decided to take advantage of the good weather and your the island. On Saturday, we parked at the Bubble Rock Parking lot and hiked 8.5 miles, climbing South Bubble, Penobscot, Cedar Swamp, Sargent and North Bubble. Click here for photos and a description of Saturday's hike.

On Sunday, we decided to one-up ourselves and again parked at the Bubble Rock parking lot and hiked 12.5 miles, going up Pemetic, and then the infamous west face of Cadillac (which was super fun) before crossing over to Dorr, down the south ridge of Dorr before climbing 750' back up onto the south ridge of Cadillac (via the Cannon Brook trail), and then hiked the length of the south ridge, and took route 3 to cross over to Day Mountain and finished off with The Triad. We had to night-hike off Triad via Hunters Brook trail, but the moon was bright enough we didn't even need headlamps. By the time we got back to the motorcycle, we were beat! Click here for photos and a description of Sunday's hike.

Ben,

Sounds like a great couple of days! My dog, SImon, and I were out on Sargent as well that weekend. We hiked up the Giant Slide Trail (there were no bugs still) and then up Sargent's North Ridge, Down the South Ridge to Cedar Swamp and back to the car via carriage paths. Only ran into one other couple and heard some voices- maybe your and your wife's!

Great trip report, maps and pictures!

Normally when I hike Penobscot and Cedar Swamp there's almost no one there, but this time there were several groups. We hooked up with a group (who I think were from COA) who had come down from Sargent and were looking for Cedar Swamp, so we showed them the way (little did we know there is a sign now, so they would have found it no problem). I'm sure we're bound to run into each other at some point with all this great weather!
