The wife and I just finished a week's vacation in the Whites we stayed at a place on the Kangamangus Hwy in Lincoln. While there we hiked the Hancocks, Bald Mtn/Artist's Bluff,S Bridal Falls Trail, Sabaday Falls (which was really just a walk in the woods) and Welsch/Dicky on Sunday. Lovely time, weather could have been better but you take what you can.

The Hancocks hike was long, 8 hours. Most of the approach was fairly flat but once you got to the actual peaks the slopes went steep and our pace carwled to a snail's pace. We went up South hancock 1st, had lunch then crossed the ridge to Mt Hancock. On our way down Hancock we went through a sleet shower. That was interesting :-).

So we added 2 4000 footers to those we've done.

The best hike by far was on Sunday just before we came home. Three hours, lovely views, Welsch/Dicky is definitely a trail with a lot of pretty views.

Sounds like a great vacation. Welch Dickey is my favorite hike just for the reasonable hike length / view ratio. My avatar is my fiancee and I right after he proposed on the summit of Welch. :)
