Anyone ever hike Glastenbury this time of year ?
The hike on the AT/Long Trail is over 10 miles each way
I've mapped out a trail from the east that's more like 5, but between 2400' and 2900' we'll be on a jeep road/snowmobile trail.
I'm wondering whether that trail will be loaded with raspberry briars or what.
I know that the area is heavily wooded and that works in our favor, but I'd hate to get all the way out there and be bushwacking through the prickers

Glastenbury is on my list of peaks to do; it's one of the Vermont fire tower peaks. I have also seen that it's a long walk on the Long Trail or as a 22-mile loop to the west. Can't provide any more details than that, unfortunately. Please report your experience, if you go.

I just got back from hiking the Long Trail! Glastenbury was one of my favorites!
As far as the rasberries...I didn't see much of anything in terms of plant life when it came to berry bushes (I was looking for blueberries!) Doesn't mean they weren't there though because I wasn't really looking for berries, just the next shelter haha. Deffinitely check out the fire tower though, pretty amazing views.
