The title says it all, whats the weirdest thing you have found while hiking? Doesn't have to be just in New England.

I'll start:

When I was hiking the Presidential Range, I stopped to take a break and was off the trail about 25 yards and found a nice a rock to sit on. While I was sitting there it was a nice day so I leaned back and was going to just lay in the sun for awhile. About 15 feet ahead of me in the trees I saw something shinny so I went up to see what it was and it was one of those gas powered remote controlled planes stuck in the trees about 15-20 feet off the ground. It looked like it had been up there for a year or two. No idea how it got stuck up there or who was flying it or from where. My best guess was somebody hiked up above the tree line launched it and it went out of range of the controller and just fell into the woods.

So whats the weirdest thing you guys have seen?

Your post reminded me of a weather balloon that I found.
I know that I've seen woodstove parts, bed springs, stacks of maple sap buckets.... I'll have to give it some thought

A friend and I were coming down a trail off a high spot early one spring and ahead saw a man’s body hanging by the neck in a tree. We approached very slowly only to find it was a dummy. At the end of the trail we came across some Search & Rescue folks that were doing some training in the area. They asked if we had seen any of their props that they had stashed in the woods.
