My buddy and I planned on doing Owl's Head for about 2 months. After doing the Pemi Loop, Owl’s Head has been calling me. I have planned it three times over the past 2 years, and for one reason or another, it always fell through.
Well it happen again. Rain all week, and a lot of it. The two river crossing would have been crazy. The back up plan was MT Tom & MT Field. It would make 19 for me and 29 for my partner.

Friday
We made it in about a mile on the Avalon Trail and made camp. It was so muddy and wet, but we made due.

Saturday
We summited MT Tom around 11am and then MT Field by 1pm. It was snowy, cloudy, and muddy.

I don't know if anyone has had the the chance to play with the Grey Jays "Whiskey Jacks" when in the Whites, but it was fun. We messed around with these birds in the Northern Presidential once before, but this time we caught it on camera.
