I wasn't sure that it would be worth spending the day on, but what the heck
Turned out that it was a day well spent and by the time we arrived back at the car after about 5.5 hours of hiking around, I'd had enough
There was some good views from the fire tower of the CT. River, Mt.Monadnock, Snow/Haystack, Greylock, and the Holyoke range plus we explored an abandoned farming community and spent some time playing with some friendly chickadees. That was very cool.
Ales were consumed at the Moan and Dove in South Amherst, one of the premier beer bars in America

We got there right at opening time and that was probably a good thing as the living room sized bar filled up quick.
To tell you the truth, the draft beer menu was fairly nondescript, the bartender was of no help, and the bottled beer menu was intimidating. Plus there was no munchies at all
If you want to educate yourself on the beer styles of Belgium, Germany and the UK it's the place to go. But if you're just out to enjoy the day and drink something tasty, go elsewhere.
