Thanks for the post Rich! I will check out the Wapack trail, sounds nice. I know I've heard of it but never hiked it.
I usually layer up on the fleece for chilly hikes or cool nights camping, so I have plenty of that (and I mostly live in fleece during the winter!). I do have polypro base layers too, so I should be set. I was going to go out today.... but 13 degrees is really just too cold for me, so I chickened out :/ lol. This weekend I have some free time & may give a trip a shot. I do want to look into getting some snowshoes as well though - I'm worried I'll show up somewhere and there will be too much snow. We've had so much around here that I doubt a lot of local trails are packed down much yet.

Sunday morning I was in Mt. Washington Valley and went for a stroll with a buddy across mostly flat terrain. A couple miles in knee deep powder with ski pants and jacket made for a great cardio workout. Temperature at time when we started was -2 degrees. The air was crisp and not a stitch of wind. I was layered perfectly and didn't sweat a bit.
13 degrees would've been a heat wave!
