It amazes me what sort of wildlife lives around me. I've been taking my camera with me lately.

Saw this little guy today. He was too far away to get any good shots. This is the only semi-decent one. The zoom was 100% extended. Considering all the steel, concrete, and trash man dumps all over the world - it's crazy what sort of wildlife there is around. Best enjoy it while we can. It's safe to say it will all be shopping centers and parking lots soon enough!

Critters amoung us, reminds me of one of my last hikes last fall. Taking a quick trip up Middle Mtn on the east side of North Conway village. I wish I had the camera at the ready because this guy was lightening fast. On the ascent, just before the split toward Peaked Mtn I accidentally spooked a Bobcat out from a rotted stump that was just a few feet off the trail. My senses were on high alert after that, and having my son in tow in the backpack didn't make me feel any better about the situation.

Man, that's crazy.

There are a couple animals I've never seen in nature (well, a lot actually) that I would like to. A bobcat is one for sure.

I've also never seen a bear in nature. I've actually gone out specifically to photograph one and can't find them, even going where people swear they are.

crafty little critters!

I have this mighty curious black bear that stomps through the neighborhood of my place in NH. I have photos of him somewhere, snacking on the neighbors bird feeder. Quite funny actually.

Here is a picture of the black bear that has frequented my parent's house for the last 5-6 years. I have been lucky enough to see them in the wild too. This winter I had the luck to see three animals I have never seen in the wild before... a bobcat, an american marten, and a snowy owl.

My particular picture here was from the kitchen window. I tried to sit in my truck to get a picture of him in the yard, but he was too smart for that and wouldn't come anywhere near me. I have a couple pictures of bear I have gotten while standing on the edge of the road when they are in a field or at a pond, but have never had the camera with me or the time to get it out if I did when I have seen them in the woods.
