My dog and I went on a short hike tuesday on a section of trail in eastern Connecticut that I'd never been on before.
It was mostly an old cart road that's been erroded by ATVs, with plenty of ankle twisting scree, but there were some nice solid granite ledges with views throught the leafless trees.
Opon decending the ledgy area we came into a small valley.
The dog stopped to do doggie things and for some reason I was drawn to a group of boulders in the woods.
There, plain as day were carvings in the rock. I noticed a carved circle right away and as I studied the rock I could make out a serpent and other figures
When I got home I looked for more information on the web, and sure enough I found this.

If you scroll down the page to where they discuss the "dancing places" you'll see the boulders were I was.
It's a little better than half way down the page.
I'd include a picture from the website but they don't seem to be coming up right now

That is very cool.
I tried to view the page a few times with no luck. The images don't seem to work.

I know, the first couple of times I looked at it, it worked fine.
It's like there is some kind of conspiracy to hush up my find.
It's very, very cool though... honest
