Hey all. Last summer I started my list of 4K Footers and have only crossed off Mt. Washington and a few others. I have a buddy who is new to the scene and wants to join me this summer.

Any reccomendations for a "beginners" 4K mountain to start him with?

Howyadoin' Sox

Nice to have you on board
Andrew's suggestion of Moosiauke is an excellent choice,
the Gorge Brook trail is about the easiest walk to get above tree line in the Whites
You might also think about Mt Osceola, its not very difficult either.
Here's my report from last summer

Good to hear that you "only" got to cross off Mt. Washington....

hahaha

Andrew and I started last year and I did not get too far...I enjoy Valley hikes more than Mountain Hikes....of course once I am in-shape I might be able to handle a little more!

When I get a chance I will post some funny....funny pics going up Mousilake....

a few more on the easier side:

Mt Hale
Mt Tecumseh
Mt Waumbek
Mt Tom/Field/Willey
Mt Eisenhower

there's also a ton of great climbs that are not on 4ks some examples:

Mt Martha
Black Mtn (Benton)
Mt Randolph and Mt Crescent
Mt Langdon

Awesome post. I know I will get bigger crews out on the trails if they know it's not a "major" climb. Every time I mention doing a 4k, most people slip back into he shadows... and vanish
