I found this site via forum.hike-nh.com. I'm always looking for new hiking websites to explore. You folks should check out viewsfromthetop.com, rocksontop.com and alpinezone.com as well

About me:

I'm new to hiking (started in 04) but have managed to finish the NH48 and have managed to summit nearly 150 mountains in the last 3 years. I'm working on several lists of peaks and am working on redlining many trail systems.

This has been my 2nd winter of hiking and I have fallen in love with snowshoeing and crampons! I've now hiked a dozen of the 48 in winter and hope to get some more in the next two weekends

For work, I drive a wheelchair van in the Metro West part of Boston.

Impressive if you've done the 48 with only 3 years of hiking. Well, hopfeully we can get a bunch of hikes and overnights organized through here. I plan on doing some every weekend.

cool! I usually post open hikes on VFTT and ROT and sometimes on forum.hike-nh, I'll add this site to the list.

Saturday I'm planning to head up to Franconia Ridge. Ascent will be via Liberty Springs. Head over to Liberty (and maybe Flume if the weather is really nice) and then turn around and head north to Little Haystack and then on to Lincoln. Turn around again and head for a descent via Falling Waters. Anyone interested?

I've got a couple guys who might be joining me but neither is definite yet. It's not really a hike I'd want to do solo, so if I get no takers I'm going to join a couple I know who will be hiking the Tom/Field/Willey triplet.

To post a hike invite, should I do it in the individual states portion of this site?

That’s a great question...

I'd say yes for now, just to keep the locations together. If we get a lot of people who want to post Hikes, I can take a poll or something and make a new section.

gnarly

BTW: Welcome to the site. We've been through hell but we always manage to come back to life. We've been hacked, lost the host, lost the database, and recently (almost) lost the domain. I'm hoping this season will be kick ass. I have a lot of things I want to add.
