So, all the weather channels said the storm was still raging at the coast. I emailed Jeff to see if he wanted to go check out the surf. Ten minutes later we jumped in his ride... and head out.


I jumped in and had to give props to the ultra-chemical energy drink he had in his cup holder. Got to love a drink that is full of chemicals your body just does not understand ... but it feels GREAT!!


Off we went, careful to drive safe and obey the rules of the road..


Even if those rules seem a little far fetched... like Caution, Horses!! I mean come on, who the hell has horses these days? Or better yet, who even has the land for horses anymore??


Ahhh... this guy does... Ok, I stand corrected.


Again, we were careful to drive safe. But... problem... my camera batteries are dying! What the hell can I do? Wait.. is that gas station across the road? They must sell batteries. Lets stop in...


So, stop in we did..


Not only did they carry batteries, they also carried granola bars... I LOVE granola bars...


Off we went. I still felt the need to give props to the funniest energy drink I've yet seen.... I bet it's flammable.


Time to crank some tunes... and head to ocean. Yeah baby!!

Alas! We are beginning to see that the weathermen were correct. This area NEVER has this much water... Damn...


We kept driving, I was getting excited. It's been a while since I saw any good flooding. I could tell the water was extremely high. I was looking forward to the ocean.


Jeff wanted to stop in to Odiorne Point.. so we did.


I wanted to keep going, but i got to see the bunkers in the hills decorated with bombs. What guy does not like bunkers in the hills decorated by bombs? Honestly...


At the end of the parking lot we got out first sight of the ocean. It was unreal! I've been here a number of times and never seen the water this high!


Jeff agreed. Time for some pictures!


Ooh.... Ahh.... I love this stuff... but it's raining like hell, and me being the dumbass I am was not prepared at all.


I did manage to get close enough to this wildlife to get some pics. Of course it helped that the wildlife was indeed stationary iron statues. Regardless, it was cool to see them in their natural environment..


Enough was enough, I needed to get back to the car. *Mental Note* - Bring a jacket next time, or at least a hat... freaking coooold...


Jeff, being prepared was able to sneak up on the iron statues unnoticed and get some good shots...

Off we went, around the bend to the ocean. The ocean is on the left, but the water on the right is up over the road... wow..


I had to stop and take a picture. This water is never this high. It's usually a marsh.


Time to get up and close with the waves. We pulled into a parking area. Apparently it was a good place to see the waves. We stopped, careful not to hit anyone...


We bailed out of the car...


I climbed over the rocks and came face to face with the highest surf I have ever seen here. These pictures do NOT do any justice... These waves were like ten feet tall!!


I sat and waited to get a good shot... success...


Once again I was freezing. I headed back to the car. I paused just long enough to give Jeff the bird for being Mr Prepared... pff... whatever...


As I got into the car i saw this sign. This stuff makes me mad as hell. Come on people, what could you have possible gained by doing this. I'd like ten minutes with this punk to personally pull out their fingernails... grr...


Anyways, time to head down the road. Wait, is that a road closed sign? WTF?


We drove over for a closer look. It was a road closed sign... damn. Maybe we should head back... welll... um...

After a brief powow, we decided it was the best idea to.. to ... drive right the hell through the barracade and get into the action! It's what Vikings do!


Ok um ... High water, low riding car, vikings... Damn, we'll never make it.. Foiled again!


I guess the duck swimming down the road should have been a dead give away..


We turned around and stopped at one more place.


Big ASS waves! RAAAWWRRR!!!


Jeff turned to me and said.. "Andrew, this is freaking badass" I agreed.


I turned and took my last look at the weather. It was getting late, I had to get back to the office... uhg


I stil pondered, can we make it down the closed road in such a small car? Shoot.. still no.


The drive home was uneventful but i wonder what happened here.


And I ended back at the office... and back to work...
