I spent a couple of hours saturday fishing Greenwich Bay in upper Narragansett Bay from my kayak. I put in at a small town park just off Rt 1 in Warwick. The tide was most of the way out. Not the best tide for fishing
I'd never fished there before some much of my time was spent paddling and looking around.
While I did come across a huge school of bunker being harassed by ospreys, no stripers were found or molested.
I also witnessed a photo shoot of models in bikinis at one of the marinas..
I made extra drifts through that area, still no fish were located
It was a fine morning out.

Too bad on the "no strikes". However , have you ever had a BAD day of fishing? I can't say that I ever have. I used to striper fish alot over in Newport and Portsmouth, what a blast ! Cooler full of beer and bait and don't go home 'til they're both gone. Sounds like you had fun. Tell us though, how bad did you get sunburned?

Yeah, and sometimes I actually bring my fishing rod...
I used to fish Plum Island about three times a week. I need to get back out there.

I've been "flys only" for over 30 years, so there's no bait to deal with. And as for beer, I might bring one or two in the kayak, but the idea of tring to expell the beer "waste" from the seated position in the 'yak is enough to make me want to wait 'till later.
Even when I fish on foot, I'm a hiker not a camper. So the beers are waiting in the car.
I'm such a white man that it's long pants, long sleeves, and goofy hat all season in the kayak. It's rarely too warm to be dressed this was out on the salt water
Sunscreen too, of course
