Hi, I'm Joe and I live in exile in suburban MA, but am forever planning my triumphant return to rural New Hampshire. I hike, canoe, camp, bike (a bit), I cook, I love Trees (I am a carpenter, but I love trees for the trees mostly), I'm married and have two little kids who I hope to have at my side on the trail soon, I have a close group of friends who I ususally hike and canoe with, but I find sometimes that I'm way more into it than they are.
I came here to talk out my outdoors addiction with other folks of the same mindset.
Hope this is the place, though I expect that it is!

Welcome aboard joejm66 ! I've found this site to be a well rounded group of people. Everyone from your casual hiker to your Mt. Everest scalers. I've found all to be very friendly and helpful.
I've got a 13 yr. old son that hikes with me(Young A.K.) and it's some of the best times a father could ask for! I too have friends that can't possibly understand walking 10 miles or so for absolutely no reason at all. Tried to explain it + even invited some with me, but...different mojo I guess. Everyone here understands the significance of a rocky outcropping, a remote frog pond, crowded White Mt. trail, or a short trail along side of an interstate. It's what we do , each for our own reasons. Glad you're here !
