From my journal 9/3/04

Mt. Eisenhower and its dome shaped summit the view are unbelievable, no matter which direction you looked in. As we approached the summit of Mt. Eisenhower the trail became much steeper and scrambling (I am sure because we were off the trail) over very steep rocks became hard to follow. The summit was above us so we just went straight up. The views were nothing less than spectacular as we could see in every direction. The summit had a very tall cairn about eight feet high that we used to hide behind to block some of the wind.
