Well it's done.
After 22 years of camping every Labor Day weekend at Buck Hill campground in Rhode Island, they've closed up shop.
After Monday, they've reverted back into a Boy Scout reservation, they are no longer open to the public.
Over the years we had some great times there. Every year more and more people made it they're business to be there for the big weekend.
I'd bet we had well over 40 peeps this year. There was 60 commemorative tee shirts, most went
I roasted a pig on Saturday night and smoked some turkeys for Sunday. We had some big time good chow.
Three of our original members have passed on, my best buddy Stan earlier this year, so we had a bit of a "memorial" at the Sunday night campfire.
(I got fallin' down drunk  )
We played horseshoes and obstacle course croquet, kids went swimming and fishing, there was guitar playing, bike riding, hiking, mushrooming
And now it's all done.
If anyone knows a good campground that's cheap, not too far away, has wooded, group tent sites that will hold 15 or more family sized tents, allows partying, dogs, strange cooking methods, has on site sinks and privies, never checks up on us, and lets us decide on our own how much we owe for the site at the time we leave, please let me know.
