I actually heard this yesterday. I work on Pease Trade Port and about 11 in the morning we heard what sounded like a jet taking off from the air field. I hear jets all the time, but this sounded a little strange. It came on fast, had more of a "thunder" sound to it and slowly drifted off.
I'm big into the earth sciences, so this was cool as hell!

PORTSMOUTH — The city's west and south sides rumbled, rattled and shook late Tuesday morning, and police later confirmed it was an earthquake measuring 2.4 on the Richter scale that was to blame.
Police Capt. David "Lou" Ferland said his department received about 50 calls from residents reporting "explosions, loud noises and earth movement." The calls began at 11:41 a.m., the bulk of them coming from the area of Lafayette and Ocean roads.
Confirmation of the earthquake came midday with the epicenter reportedly 5 miles south of Kittery, Maine. Minor damage was reported to a ceiling at an Ocean Road home, said Ferland, adding there were no injuries.
