OK... lets try it again

As some of you may remember, the campground that we spent the last 22 Labor Day weekends at closed to the public last year.
Rather than trying to find another place that suited our needs, we bought a chunk of land for our own use.
There's a lot of work to do...and some of us were there over the weekend.

This is the road in from the Mass side

Campin' out and cuttin' wood this past weekend....

This is the area that the former owner was prepping for a house site.
He just cut down the trees and left them. So we made big wood into little wood

I think we're going to have to do some winter camping

So, this is just a plot you bought to camp on? Do you plan on building a house on it?

I soo want to buy like a three or four acre lot way up north to be able to go up to.

No... it's on a very rough road and it's too far from the nearest electricity
If some nice new neighbor paid to bring the electrical line closer than a structure might be possible
Right now it's only for camping

Dudley, just found this post, awesome site! Would you tell me just whereabouts it is? If you'd rather not, I understand. How big is the property? Gr8 place to get away for a bit. Nice job on the pit.

It's in Stafford CT right on the state line
Our little site is only 4 acres but the nearest neighbors are a 1/2 mile to the north and 3 miles to the south.
We didn't do any winter camping this year, but my little sister's 50th is next weekend...
I think we're even going to have a keg !

My next project is to work on the well
There's an old dug well, lined with wood. It needs to be drained, cleaned out, relined with something 'safer' and capped.
Probably take me all summer <_<

Nice area, Dudley! Good luck with the well, sounds like a lot of work.
