I've been tracking this website traffic stats and noticed a bunch of trends that needed to be addressed. One big one is that because these forums are run from dynamic content (index.php?query-stuff) for all pages, and had no sub-directories, we were having trouble getting a very deep index.

I didn't build the forum software and the SEO is not great by any standard. What I did was move the codebase to sub-directory (/forums) to basically tell the search engines that this content is a "section" of the domain HikingNewEngland.com, and not the main domain content itself. In SEO practice, this is a good thing and should have been done at the beginning.

Blah blah blah...

What this also does now is open up the potential of the site to add other non-forum content like promotions, events, articles and other stuff.

Sorry for the hassle, I'm working on getting the homepage re-authored with helpful content and running tests to see if it all went well. Hit me up with any ideas for the homepage.

Let me know if you find anything...

Cheers!
