Slipped out of work Tuesday, the weather was beautiful, 34-36 degrees, no wind, and clear skies. We hopped the ferry to Martha's Vineyard and drove up island (my wife’s car was in Vineyard Haven) to Menemsha. Off North Road is the Trustees of Reservations Menemsha Hills property, about a 3-mile loop hike.
We walked out to the beach, stopping at the three overlooks along the way. It was nice enough in sheltered spots to just lie in the sun. We had lunch overlooking Vineyard Sound. The visibility was unlimited and we could see the individual houses across the Sound on Cuttyhunk at the end of the Elizabeth Islands and the lighthouse on the cliffs at Aquinnah..
Cobble Stone Beach beneath the hills is unlike any other Vineyard beach I’ve ever seen; all rocks and some big ones at that. More like the coast of Maine.
It was a very nice easy hike, bare unfrozen ground. We saw turkeys, rabbits and deer. A great day outside.

I've gotten over to the Vineyard in the summer the last 2 years. My sweetheart & I bring our bikes and ride around the island, have lunch & drink wine on the sea wall. Good Times!
