Flags on the 48 will be held on September 12, 2009. I just heard of this event last month and was happy to nab a peak (North Tripyramid). It looks as though Zealand and South Carter are still available. http://www.flagsonth...rg/peaklist.php

I just heard about this 2 weeks ago. I know it's not a 4,000 footer but some of us are going to raise a flag on Monadnock next Saturday.

It was a beautiful day. Four of us carried 2 poles I cut from oak trees on my property, lashed them together and flew the flag from noon to 2. Never forget!

I didn't fly a flag for the event, but I did hike Lafayette and Lincoln for two more 4Ks and some pictures of the event.

My gallery can be seen here. TR to come later today.
