I don't know how many people have been to Lynn but the trip is a corker. Trails are well marked but download a map from the Friends of the Lynn Woods website. The map and Woods have a coordinate system. You can easily get a 10 mile hike out of the Lynn Woods or shorter versions if you have kids. There is a cave there where a pirate used to live in the 1600's and got crushed in an earthquake. A couple hundred years later a man with a spirit guide blasted down 200 feet trying to find the pirate's treasure. The cave he blasted is still there today but bring a strong flashlight! The area was also used by the Pawtucket tribe and early settlers. The grade is pretty easy with only a couple of ascents. Great views of Boston. Highly recommended trail.

How is Lynn Woods with dogs being off leash? I know I could find this out on my own, but lots of places by law have a leash law but in reality are pretty liberal with enforcement

There is one park ranger for the entire area. I brought my dog and I kept her on a leash for the trails which are main thoroughfares. There are mountain bikers and joggers, etc. I took her off the leash on the forested paths. There is not a lot of supervision in the park. You can however find the number of the ranger online and call him up if the cave is not open or if you need anything else.
