Last Friday I took the kayak out on Squam Lake. I left the Squam Lake Association in the morning, and got off the water around 4PM. The morning was excellent. No one was out. The afternoon got a little tough. The powerboats stated coming out and made it rough. Attached is the GPS log uploaded to Google maps. We covered just over 10 miles.

Every time I see a map like that I say to myself, "Self, I really need to get one of those GPS units".
Very cool. Looks like a good time. I've only been able to use the Kayaks a couple times this summer. It's been so busy.

If I'm not mistaken there are some back country campsites on Squam Lake that accessible only by boat, correct? It's been on my mind the past two summers to load the kayak up with gear and spend the night at one of those sites.

Yes that is correct, they are Moon and Bowman islands. They can be reserved threw the SLA. http://www.squamlake...sla/camping.htm
