I purchased a pair of Merrell Outlands at EMS. I wore them for a day and the right shoe insole started to side away from the toe box and bunch up in the heal and squeak. I exchanged the pair at EMS, for the same model. Now the new pair has a loud, annoying squeak coming from the left shoe. I am ready to return this pair but for a cash refund and buy a pair of Timberlands. I always have no problems with Timberlands and currently hike a pair. Anyone use a Merrell shoe? Do they all squeak?

It's so funny you posted this.

My Merrell Chameleons have squeaked since day one. I love them, but they do.

Then my friend got a pair on my advice, and the things squeak for him too!

wtf?!?

The ones I have on right now are 4 years old
Never a problem other than they're almost dead

I get 'squeeky shoes' when I eat baked beans ;)

I bought a pair of Merrell Chameleon's back in 2001 and still wear the same pair. I've never dealt with a "squeaking" problem, but they are beat to s#%t.

I cannot recommend these shoes enough, in fact, I don't think I'll ever buy a different brand of light hiking shoe. I've literally hiked all over the place with these, in every possible condition and they have never disappointed. Desert, deep woods, swampland, snow you name it. I could've paid 5 times as much and still got my money's worth

Emailed Merrell on Saturday and still no reply from customer service. Looks like I am going to return them to EMS. The squeak is unacceptable.

I know this is an old topic. Did you ever get a reply back from Merrill? I was thinking about getting a pair because of the way my feet are shaped, they seem to have more toe width space.
